Results from the 2008 Team Sprint Cup, Perth:
In order to raise money for Charity ("Autism West") and to create a little bit of team rivalry, Kirby Swim (along with its many and varied sponsors including Sports Fever and Little Creatures) organised a 8 x 50m Relay Challenge at the Christchurch Grammar School on Sunday 10th February.

The event was very well attended with over 40 corporate teams and 12 Open teams signing up for the event.
The TEAM CORE entered a single men's team with the aim of not finishing last (I think we shared one fast-twitch muscle fibre between all 8 of us!) and to try to crack 4 minutes for the combined total of 400m.
Luckily we only had to swim once as we progressed automatically to the Men's Open final. We were pitted against some awesome competition in the form of City of Perth and West Coast A-Teams, each of whom should have been easily able to break 3:30 for the swim!!

Joe Kierath: 28.38
Andrew Hunt: 31.70
James Millen: 30.65
Paul Newsome: 28.85
Rob Buckle: 30.55
Nelson Woss: 28.22
Chris Tait: 27.81
Total = 3:51.83
We also only came 5th out of the 6 teams in the final, so we were really stoked!
